Frequently Asked Questions
What are your fees?
--- I charge $160 for a 50-minute therapy session. Consulting and training fees vary; please contact me for an estimate.
Do you take insurance?
-- I am not in-network with any insurers. However, I provide receipts with the information that insurance companies require if you would like to independently pursue reimbursement for sessions using your out-of-network benefits.
How often do we meet, how long are sessions, and where are they?
-- I usually meet with clients on a weekly basis for sessions that last 50 minutes. Currently, all sessions are being held remotely.
When do I "graduate" or "finish" therapy?
-- I see the work of psychotherapy as an investment in yourself and in the relationships in your life. I do not follow any manualized treatments and am not held to insurance requirements to offer a limited number of sessions. Building a therapy relationship - as opposed to following a treatment protocol - takes time. I will, however, keep your goals a regular part of our discussions, and be transparent as to what we are doing and why. I think through therapy endings as meaningfully and intentionally as I do the rest of our process together; we will come to a conclusion when it feels appropriate to the work to do so.
What is your training/education?
-- Masters in Social Work (MSW), clinical concentration
University of Pennsylvania (SP2)
-- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Existential, Phenomenological, and Feminist Philosophy
Penn State University
-- Fulbright Scholar, Albert-Ludwigs-Universitaet Freiburg, Germany
-- Bachelor of Arts (BA), summa cum laude, Philosophy
Mount Holyoke College
