Frequently Asked Questions
What are your fees?
--- I charge $160 for a 50-minute therapy session. Consulting and training fees vary; please contact me for an estimate.
Do you take insurance?
-- I am not in-network with any insurers. However, I provide receipts with the information that insurance companies require if you would like to independently pursue reimbursement for sessions using your out-of-network benefits.
How often do we meet, how long are sessions, and where are they?
-- I usually meet with clients on a weekly basis for sessions that last 50 minutes. Currently, all sessions are being held remotely.
When do I "graduate" or "finish" therapy?
-- I see the work of psychotherapy as an investment in yourself and in the relationships in your life. I do not follow any manualized treatments and am not held by insurance requirements to offer a limited number of sessions. Building a therapy relationship - as opposed to following a treatment protocol - takes time. I will, however, keep your goals a regular part of our discussions, and be transparent as to what we are doing and why. We will come to a conclusion when it feels right for you. My hope is to work with you to have the ending be as meaningful and intentional as the rest of our process together.
What is your training/education?
-- Masters in Social Work (MSW), clinical concentration
University of Pennsylvania (SP2)
-- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Existential, Phenomenological, and Feminist Philosophy
Penn State University
-- Fulbright Scholar, Albert-Ludwigs-Universitaet Freiburg, Germany
-- Bachelor of Arts (BA), summa cum laude, Philosophy
Mount Holyoke College
